Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Release The Notes! app ("we," "our," or "us") handles your information.

We do not collect any personal information. The only data processed by our app is the Git commits you explicitly select for release note generation.

2. Data Security

Release The Notes! operates within macOS's sandboxing environment, which prevents the app from accessing any files or folders you haven't explicitly granted permission to. All data transfers to OpenAI's API are protected using SSL pinning to ensure secure transmission of your commit data.

3. AI Processing of Git Commits

When you use our app to generate release notes, we send the commits you select (including commit message, author, date, and diffs) to OpenAI's API. This data transfer is necessary to analyze your commits and generate meaningful release notes. We do not store or retain this data after processing is complete.

4. Legal Basis

Under the EU / EEA GDPR, we process the data you select on the legal basis of "performance of a contract"—you ask the app to generate release notes, and the data transfer is necessary to deliver that feature.

5. Third-Party Processor

We use OpenAI, L.L.C. (USA) solely to transform the commits you pick into release notes. Processing is subject to Standard Contractual Clauses. OpenAI's policy is available at OpenAI Privacy Policy.

6. Usage Statistics

We use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymized statistics about app usage. This helps us understand how users interact with our app and how we can improve it.
